A First World War Exhibition based on the war time
experiences of the community of Bushey in Hertfordshire

2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. During the national four-year commemoration, communities and organisations across the country will remember those who died and those who experienced life on the Home Front.stretcher-large

Bushey Museum and Art Gallery in conjunction with the Bushey Academy will be staging an exhibition to record the story of Bushey during the First World War for the present generation. It will aim to increase awareness of the level of personal sacrifice and the effects of war on the local community and will specifically involve young people.

The exhibition will include a display of work on the First World War by students of the Bushey Academy

A number of events are being planned to coincide with the exhibition. Further details will appear on Exhibition page. After the exhibition the display panels will be available to schools and other organisations that wish to borrow them during the four-year commemoration period and beyond.
